Richard Brown Scholarship for Trine Engineering Majors
Established to Support Trine Students in the Fields of biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical or mechanical Engineering
The committee is now seeking applications for the 2025-26 academic year.
To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be admitted to and actively enrolled full-time in the Engineering program at Trine University
- Be in their 2nd through 4th year pursuing a degree in biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Candidates must provide:
- A written narrative explaining financial need, and their professional goals, along with a list of relevant work experience, if possible
- Most recent academic transcripts
- Two letters of recommendation, one from a professor and one from a current or previous employer/supervisor in a relevant field
Preference may be given to the following:
- Volunteerism or participation in relevant campus activities.
- Applicants intending to pursue a career in mechanical engineering.
Eligible candidates will compile and submit all necessary materials through the Marshall Community Foundation application process below. Deadline is May 1.
Previous recipients are eligible to reapply for additional awards if they maintain the required standards. Previous recipients must submit updated supporting materials. Previously submitted narratives or letters of recommendation will not be accepted.
Funding could be implemented for academic expenses in the summer of 2024, if applicable.
