The Marshall Community Foundation stewards nearly 150 endowed funds, including 41 organizational funds created by donors and agencies to strengthen and sustain the work of local nonprofit organizations.
Organizational funds are often established by donors who have built a meaningful relationship with an agency or are inspired by the agency’s mission and want to ensure the work continues for future generations. The reasons why a donor chooses to establish an organizational fund are as varied as the funds themselves.
Each year, the Foundation makes a 4 to 5 percent allocation for distribution to each of our endowed funds based on endowment earnings and average fund size over a 12-month period. Some donors and agencies may choose to have these distributions reserved for a future project or program. Others will request their available distribution once a year as soon as the Foundation’s audit is complete. This makes these distributions around March.
A complete list of organizational funds can be found on the Foundation’s website: https://marshallcf.org/funds/.
