Matt Siebert has spent more than a decade shaping students and schools across the district. A graduate of Marshall High School himself, he began his career in the classroom teaching physics, chemistry, and biology before moving into leadership roles. He has served as an assistant principal at both the middle and high school levels, and now leads as a principal at Marshall High School.
Outside of school, he is a proud father of 4½-year-old twins and enjoys spending time with his family on camping trips. His passion for education began early, rooted in positive experiences as a student and a deep appreciation for the sense of community and connection he found in school environments.
That same spirit of connection led him to get involved with the Marshall Community Foundation (MCF), where he is currently serving as a board member after being invited to join more than four years ago. Matt has been a wonderful addition to the board, adding a fresh and unique perspective. Through his involvement, he has gained a deeper understanding of the foundation’s impact.
“What’s been most rewarding is becoming more connected to what’s happening in the community,” he shared. He noted that one of the most surprising aspects of MCF’s work is its reach and the ability to touch people’s lives in meaningful ways without them even realizing it.
The foundation’s motto, For Good. For Ever., resonates deeply with him. “To me, it means always doing the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest. If we step back and focus on doing things for the right reasons, that’s what matters most.” He focuses on authenticity and action and encourages others looking to make a difference in their community to do the same. It is clear from anyone who knows Matt that he is involved because he wants to be, not because he feels he should.
Looking ahead, he anticipates continued growth for both Marshall and the foundation. He expects MCF to expand its outreach while maintaining its strong commitment to meeting community needs. His hope is simple but powerful: continued progress and a sustained commitment to making a difference.
